“Clear Lam is committed to making the right choices and creating the right balance between our product mix, manufacturing processes, sales strategies and the impact we leave on the environment.
We create high standards of our own when regulations do not exist. We continuously explore innovation around source reduction, the use of recycled and renewable materials, and resource conservation.
Our goal is to create a positive example for others to follow while minimizing the impact on the earth and on future generations.”
James J. Sanfilippo – President
Clear Lam was one of the first companies in North America to lead the development of more sustainable packaging materials and take a holistic approach to sustainability. This focus and passion continues today.
Clear Lam developed Project EarthClear™ in 2005 as a part of its sustainability initiative. Project EarthClear includes internal as well as external efforts to minimize our impact on the environment.
Today we have internal programs that minimize electricity use by incorporating motion sensors in our warehouses and offices. We also recycle a large portion of our manufacturing waste, thus significantly reducing the amount of material that ends up in landfills. We invested in solvent recovery systems and are moving to more formulas that use low or no solvents.
Our external programs include several product lines that minimize the impact on the environment such as:
Packaging, materials, and designs that reduce the amount of plastic used.
Packaging made from renewable, bio-based materials.
Packaging made from recycled plastics such as water bottles or soda bottles.
